Camp Okuti is an intimate and exclusive camp providing guests with the ultimate safari experience nestled in the shade of large, beautiful old trees overlooking the Xakanaxa Lagoon. Okuti has been established in the Okavango for over fifty years, boasting the most knowledgeable game guides and staff in the region, ensuring that you get a taste of a ’real’ African safari and memories you will keep for ever.
Location:
Situated in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the remote north-eastern part of the Okavango Delta.
Accommodation and facilities:
Accommodates twenty two guests in a series of superb thatched chalets with en suite bathrooms and ceiling fans. Each chalet faces west and overlooks one of the Delta’s most spectacular lagoons with stunning African sunsets. Dinner is served in the candlelit dining room, followed by a relaxing liqueur in the sunken lounge.
Activities:
Day and night game drives, mokoros (dugout canoe) excursions, walking safaris, river cruising, fishing and birding.
Special attractions:
The camp borders the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, where Africa’s ’big’ mammals are found, often in very large herds. Powerboat excursions can also be taken to view large concentrations of herons and storks at their nesting sites.
