Deception Valley Lodge is a luxurious oasis that appears almost mirage like in the shimmering heat of the Kalahari. It offers one of the best African - Kalahari experiences, with Bushman at hand to share their knowledge, while you can relax in total luxury at this unique lodge. The Bushman is believed to have inhabited Botswana for at least 30,000 years and at Deception Valley you will get to know the Bushman’s ways of life, survival and hunting skills.
Location:
Situated in the Central Kalahari on a private area adjoining the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
Accommodation and facilities:
The camp accommodates sixteen guests in six luxury suites and two luxury family suites; all with en suite Victorian style bathroom, outside shower and a private lounge. Ceiling fans and mosquito nets are provided as well as a mini bar. There is a delightful dining room, lounge and bar area, a curio shop, small library and a swimming pool.
Activities:
Day and night games drives, game and bird watching from the deck at the main lodge or in a hide at one of the water holes, guided walks with the Bushmen to explore their culture, survival and hunting skills.
Special attractions:
The Deception Valley area is a bird lover’s paradise and among the most prolific in the region with over 200 species available to view ranging from small finches to huge vultures. Guests can also interact with the Bushmen and learn from them, experience, taste and feel how these wonderful people of the African continent adapted to life in this arid land.
